How to Make Aquascape The Simplest Way

How to Make Aquascape The Simplest Way

Water is not the only element needed by the fish. Like other living creatures, fish have to live in the environment that makes them less-stressed. They also need the ultimate protection from the predators, just like what they got in their natural habitat such as the sea

Your aquarium might not as big as the waters or the sea. There, you cannot put the real corals, the real weeds, and underwater garden elements. However, you still can make your tank as beautiful as the waters. What you need to do is to make aquascape.

Aquascape is the artificial underwater garden made from some aquatic plants, caves, rocks, and other supporting materials. Aquascape makes a tank looks more natural and makes the fish feel like they live in their natural environment.

By understanding the basic steps, you can make your tank more unique and becomes the satisfying home decoration. So, here are the simple ways to make aquascape that are easy to remember:

1.    Make the base for the aquascape
After preparing the materials you need, first, you have to make the base of the aquascape. You can make it from the silicon sand. After that, put an active carbon in the middle of the base. Active carbon has a function to absorb dangerous substance in the aquarium.

2. Give the fertilizer
Above the base, don’t forget to put the fertilizer. The function of fertilizer is to give the nutrition to the aquatic plants. However, you can skip this step if you don't use the plants with root. If your plant absorbs the nutrition from their leaves, this step is not required.

3. Arrange the hardscape
Cover the fertilizer with silicon sands. Then, arrange the stones, the woods, and other decorative materials carefully. Those things are usually known as the hardscape. Make sure you already have the concept before. In case you are confused about the concept, you can look for the inspiration on the Internet or on the page like Pinterest.

4. Fill the tank with water and aquatic plants
This is actually the trickiest step of how to make the aquascape. You can't just directly pour the water because it will make the sands become messy. First, fill only a quarter part of the aquarium. Use the filter to pour the water. Then, plant the aquatic plants carefully. After that, pour again the water using the filter and dispose again 70% water from the aquarium. This step has to be done to waste the ammonia inside the tank.

5. Put the fish
Wait around 2 weeks before putting the fish into the tank. Because it needs around 2 weeks until the water is pure and no more ammonia inside it. Ammonia can poison the fish, so this step is very important.

Make aquascape is actually easy and funny. All you need is to pay attention to the detail and the hygiene. After that, you will have your own DIY tank that is so satisfying in your home.
